Malapropism (aka Bushism)

mal•a•prop•ism: n, the usually unintentional humorous misuse or distortion of a word or phrase; especially the use of a word sounding somewhat like the one intended but ludicrously wrong in the context.

President Bush gave the world another Bushism today during a bill signing ceremony for a new $417 billion defense appropriations bill that includes $25 billion in emergency funding for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. At least, I hope it was a malapropism...

Here is a video capturing the beautiful moment in all its glory (from the smoking gun):
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." - President George Walker Bush
White House press secretary Scott McClellan said the Bushism "just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak...the American people know this president speaks with clarity and conviction, and the terrorists know by his actions he means it."

Wait, so the terrorists know by Bush’s own actions that the he means it when he says he is thinking up with new ways to harm us and our nation? Well, who am I to question the White House press secretary?

Onward Christian Soldiers...be sure to bring your conviction, common sense, clarity and that plain-spoken style with you as you think "about new ways to harm our country and our people."

Thanks for the concern about the formatting issues with the 3rd cent. The problem turned out to be the "Stop the Bushit" image under "the 3rd cent motto." I resized the image so those of you with unique screen sizes or outdated browsers can view all that is the 3rd cent. Thanks again.
